Am I My Brothers Keeper?
Woe unto them they have gone the way of Cain (Jude 11).
Am I my brothers keeper?
A brothers keeper is one who keeps confidence and keeps the vision. He is one who is a partner as well as an advisor. An associate as well as an encouragement. A mirror as well as a sounding board. One who takes the heat with you is is therefore qualified to enjoy the celebration of the gotten victory with you.
Men need brothers men need spiritual fathers. A man without a spiritual father becomes a target for any enemy. I was listening to a video of a world famous charismatic preacher today. He decided that God would never send anyone to hell. He started teaching the gospel of universalism, a gospel one step off the rails from easy belivism. Today he teaches that God does not send anyone to hell but all are redeemed. It makes me think, why have salvation at all, the Lord must have wasted his time on Calvary...if this were true!
What is sad about this is that, this spiritual father could not follow leadership and submit humbly to his senior brethren. How sad! now he has a subsititute sacrifice, a ministry that counts for nothing. The price of error is the mark of Cain..and that my friend can come to any of us.
Look out for your brother, he needs You!
