I honestly believe it can be easy to get a conversation going. Everyone from JKB, my church, knows that I’m really not a conversationalist. However, when it comes down to witnessing I will get out of my comfort zone. Anyhow, the method that has always worked for me is to start off with a formal greeting. Now after my greeting, quite naturally, the person will respond back with a hello. Following the intro I usually ask the person how they are doing. Once they ask me how I’m doing I take the opportunity to say “I’m doing fine because of Jesus” and then I begin to witness. However, just in case the person tells me they aren’t doing well, I’m prepared to tell them how things could be going so much better, if they knew the Lord. This is just one of my many methods of trying to witness. I’ve always found this method to be very effective because it’s yet to fail me. People are very predictable and this method allows me to control the conversation.

That’s very true. To be saved requires a concern for others. Christians, of course, must first be concerned about “staying saved” but they must also accept the great commission to spread the gospel. The Samaritan woman is a great example of showing concern for the souls of others. After her life changing encounter w/ Jesus she did not cease to spread the “Come and See” invitation. She was able to reach others because she became living proof that after her acceptance of the “living water” she became a new creature. As a result, she did not cease to spread the message for others to experience Jesus for themselves. The people responded “Now we believe, not because of your saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world” (John 4:42). In summation, Christians should be concerned about the souls of others. However, the most effective way to attract people does require us to be living proof that we have “Came and seen” Jesus for ourselves and then undergone a life transformation.
